Here are some of our favourite Oban restaurants and bars – and all are within a short walking distance from the hotel.
Following an indulgent No. 26 breakfast, an adventure filled day exploring Oban and beyond can work up quite an appetite. When choosing where to eat in Oban, you are truly spoilt for choice. Although Oban is often regarded as Scotland’s seafood capital, we have listed some local Oban restaurants that serve up some of the best gastronomic delights on the west coast. As well as being some of the best restaurants and bars in Oban, they are all within a short walking distance from our hotel.
Cuan Mor, meaning ‘big ocean’ in Gaelic, boasts fantastic views of Oban Bay which can be appreciated when you indulge in their locally caught seafood and popular gourmet grill options. Paired with their finest ales and whiskies, this is a real treat after a busy day.
Situated on the Railway Pier is Oban’s Waterfront Fishouse Restaurant, where you can take in incredible views of the bay and indulge in seafood to match. The menu boasts tasty seafood as well as dishes from the grill and some delicious seasonal favourites.
Find the Oban favourite, Coast, in the middle of George Street in the old bank building. Coast serves its locally sourced seasonal menu featuring the best ingredients from land and sea.
Ee-usk, meaning ‘fish’, is Oban’s award-winning seafood restaurant. Their locally caught seafood is cooked to perfection and served with panoramic views across the bay and North Pier, which can be appreciated through their floor-to-ceiling windows.
The Etive Restaurant offers an intimate and personal experience with carefully cooked ingredients from Scotland’s land and lochs. Etive is known to produce dishes that are full of flavour and can be paired with the perfect choice of wine.
Offering fresh ingredients sourced from their own farm, Taste of Argyll is a ‘field to fork’ experience that takes pride in delivering quality meat and seasonal game dishes, alongside some of Scotland’s finest seafood.
Piazza is a tasty italian on the North Pier which offers classic pizza and pasta dishes as well as burgers and other delicious mains. Located next to Ee-usk, you are truly spoilt with breath-taking views across the bay.

Established in 1790, The Oban Inn is one of the most iconic pubs in Oban. With a warm atmosphere enjoyed by locals and visitors, you can taste local ales paired with traditional pub classics.
The Lorne is a traditional pub set in the heart of Oban. Indulge in delicious pub classics that have been crafted with locally sourced, Scottish ingredients.
