Coronavirus

What is your coronavirus policy?

Ahead of opening we have implemented strict cleaning protocols and procedures across all areas of our hotel, to ensure we offer a safe environment for our staff and guests. Our coronavirus policy is outlined here.

We also ask that guests follow the Scottish government guidance which can be found here.

What is your cleaning policy?

Rooms will be disinfected according to government guidance after every check out.

Will hand sanitiser be available?

Hand sanitiser will be available at the entrance of the building and all the public areas, including rooms and guests are encouraged to use it frequently.

Do I need to wear a mask in the hotel?

All our staff will be wearing the requested PPE and we encourage guests to wear masks in public areas of the hotel.

Will my temperature be taken?

We provide digital thermometers for guest use during their stay.

Check in and check out

What time is check in?

Check in is from 3pm. If you prefer an earlier check in time, please contact reception in advance of your stay to check availability.

What time is check out?

Check out is at 11am. If you prefer a later check out time, please contact reception to check availability.

Can I check in late at night/very early in the morning?

Yes, we will have lock boxes at the hotel entrance. Guests wanting to check in early morning or late in the evening are required to let us know in advance in order for us to make arrangements.

Children and additional beds

Are children allowed in the hotel?

Yes, children are welcome to stay at the hotel. Children under 12 stay free and children aged 13 – 17 years old can stay for a small supplement of £20 per child, per night. We will provide a bed for children aged 13 – 17 years old. Please let us know at the time of booking that a child’s bed is required as we have limited availability.

Can I book a cot for in my room?

Yes, we have one cot which can be booked in advance. If you require a cot and don’t book in advance then we would recommend bringing your own to avoid disappointment.

Can I request an additional bed for my room?

Yes, an additional bed is available for £25 per person, per night.

Hotel

Is there a lift in the hotel?

No there is not a lift in our hotel.

Is the hotel accessible?

Unfortunately our hotel is not wheelchair accessible as the hotel can only be accessed via steps up to the front door.

Is there a restaurant in the hotel?

We do not have a restaurant however we have a cook school.

Our team would be happy to recommend local restaurants, or you can take a look at our Local Area pages to find nearby restaurants.

Is reception open 24 hours?

No, reception will open from 7am – 11pm. Out with these hours, an emergency number will be provided to guests.

Are pets allowed in the hotel?

Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome to stay at the hotel and are able to join you in all areas of the hotel, except at breakfast time. We will apply a £15 per night charge, per pet. Maximum 2 pets allowed.

What is your smoking policy?

No. 26 By The Sea has a strict non-smoking policy. We reserve the right to charge a guest up to £200.00 if they are found to be smoking or vaping in a room or public area of the hotel, and should a guest continue to smoke in a room or public area, we reserve the right to have the guest removed from the hotel.

Can I park my car?

Limited free parking is available at the hotel and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please note that guests use the car park at their own risk and No. 26 By The Sea cannot be held responsible for any theft or damage to your vehicle or its contents.

Do you have WiFi?

Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the hotel and is free of charge. Please ask a member of staff for the Wi-Fi password.

Rooms

Will my room have a hairdryer?

Yes, each of our rooms have a hairdryer.

Will my room have an iron and ironing board?

Yes, each of our rooms have an iron. Ironing boards are available on request.

Can I charge purchases to my room?

Yes, you can use our Honesty Bar and we will charge your drinks back to your room.

Do you offer room service?

Yes, breakfast is available via room service.

Bookings

Is breakfast included?

We offer rates that include breakfast and those that don’t. Book direct to receive complimentary breakfast during your stay.

Do you take the money straightaway at the time of booking for my room?

If you purchase an advance paid rate then we will charge your card upon booking. Any booking that has been prepaid or where a deposit has been taken, guests must provide the same credit card details upon arrival. If someone is paying for the individual travelling, then a signed credit card authorisation form must be completed and sent to the hotel showing the last four digits and signature strip of the card. Please contact the hotel for more information.

What does the payment show up as on my Bank Statement?

Your transaction will appear as NO.26 THE SEA LIMITED.

Will you validate or pre-authorise my card?

Your booking will be guaranteed against a credit card. A pre-authorisation fee may be required at check-in to cover any extras or incidentals above the total amount payable for the duration of your stay. In addition, the hotel may request a security deposit of £50.00.

When will you take payment for my booking?

When we take payment will depend on the room rate you have chosen.

Can I cancel my booking?

Should you wish to make any changes to your confirmed booking, please note the following terms and conditions –

Best Flexible Rate – Reservations made may be modified or cancelled without penalty up to 72 hours, prior to arrival. Cancellations after that time will be charged for one night’s stay.

Advance Purchase Rates/Non-refundable – Cancellations will be charged the full rate, and amendments are not permitted.

Stays of 7 nights or more – 25% non-refundable deposit of rate per night required. 72 Hours Cancellation Policy, prior to arrival.

Reservations made later than 11am the day prior to arrival may not be modified or cancelled without a charge of one night’s stay being made to the debit or credit card used to guarantee your reservation.

If you fail to cancel and do not show up, you will be charged one nights’ accommodation.

Any request to cancel a reservation cannot be considered complete until you receive our cancellation confirmation or cancellation reference number. Until you do so, your booking will still be considered valid and cancellation penalties may be incurred. If you do not receive a confirmation of your cancellation or cancellation reference number within 24-hours of your initial request, please ensure you contact us without delay.

I booked through a 3rd party (not No. 26 By The Sea), can I change my booking with you?

If you make a booking via a third party site (i.e. a booking agency or affiliate site such as booking.com), you must cancel or amend your booking through them.
