The Velvet Knife

J.M. Velvet Knife offers an intimate chef’s table experience in the heart of Oban, designed around guests who enjoy thoughtful cooking, seasonal produce and modern fine dining in a relaxed, personal setting.

Seated around a bespoke marble-topped table, just six guests can watch each course come together in front of them, where they can speak with Chef Jaroslav Jay Mikolajevic and learn all about the ingredients and techniques behind the each course.

The tasting menu changes with the seasons, drawing inspiration from hotel’s rural surroundings. With limited spaces at each service, every part of the evening feels considered, from the pace of each course to the conversation around the table.
